A Prayer of Praise for God's Compassion

This prayer is rooted in praise - a Psalm declaration. Even when your heart feels weary, heavy, or worn thin, remember that God’s compassion has not been exhausted and His mercy is still meeting you right where you are. Psalm 111 reminds us that the Lord is not only mighty, but also gracious, full of compassion, and faithfully holding you even now.

Your voice carries spiritual weight, pray these words boldly, wholeheartedly, and anchored in the truth that God is with you.

Father, I praise You with my whole heart (Psalm 111:1).
Not just with words, but with the deepest place in me that has seen Your faithfulness, felt Your kindness, and been sustained by Your hand. You are worthy of my quiet praise, my tearful praise, and my daily praise. You have been too good to me for me to stay silent.

When I think of Your works, my heart softens before You (Psalm 111:2).
When I remember the ways You have kept me, provided for me, corrected me, and covered me, I cannot help but worship. Your works are great, Lord, full of splendor and majesty, and Your righteousness endures forever (Psalm 111:2–3).

You have caused Your wonderful works to be remembered (Psalm 111:4).
Even when life has tried to make me forget, You have left evidence of Your goodness all throughout my story. In answered prayers, in closed doors, in unexpected strength, in quiet peace, and in mercy that met me when I had nothing left, You were there.

Lord, You are gracious and full of compassion (Psalm 111:4).
This is the truth my heart clings to. You are not harsh with me. You are not careless with me. You are not distant from my pain. You are gracious, tender, and compassionate toward me.

You provide for those who fear You, and You remember Your covenant forever (Psalm 111:5).
Thank You for being a faithful Father who does not forget His children. Thank You for being steady, trustworthy, and true in every season.

Your works are truth and justice, and all Your precepts are trustworthy (Psalm 111:7). What You speak is right. What You establish stands firm. Your promises are secure, upheld forever in faithfulness and uprightness (Psalm 111:7–8). So when my heart feels unsteady, teach me to rest in the stability of who You are.

Thank You for the redemption You have sent to Your people (Psalm 111:9).
Thank You for Your saving hand, Your holy name, and the mercy that reaches even into my weakest places. Holy and awesome is Your name (Psalm 111:9), yet You still draw near to the humble and the hurting.

Teach me to walk in the fear of the Lord, for it is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10). Shape my heart to honor You, trust You, and follow You with reverence. Let my life reflect the understanding that comes from staying close to You (Psalm 111:10).

Today, I stop and say thank You.
Thank You for every hidden mercy.
Thank You for every moment You sustained me.
Thank You for being patient with my process and compassionate with my weakness.
Thank You for being holy and near, mighty and tender, exalted and attentive.

I will praise You with my whole heart (Psalm 111:1).
I will remember Your works (Psalm 111:4).
I will trust Your faithfulness (Psalm 111:7–8).
And I will rest in this truth:
You, Lord, are gracious and full of compassion (Psalm 111:4).

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
